The Castle of Caramagne was built in the XVI th century by a lawyer from Piémont, Bernardino Becchi who named it by the name of its native village.
The Castle of Caramagne, is in fact a Italian Villa in the Palladio style, who hosted many among the most famous families in Savoy.
Its Grand Salon also hosted the marriage of Lamartine, the French poet, with miss Birch a young English girl. The castle is still private.
The Villa Caramagne opposite the Château was the center of the old wine farm in the middle of vineyards of the famous Savoy white wine. This estate is available for rent.
